Community food drives form a major component of the food
supplies we provide to families in need. Most food drives are held during the
autumn and holiday seasons and CORA’s storerooms are usually full to brimming
in early January. However, by April or early May, this abundance grows thin,
and we rely on food purchases for most of what we hand out.
The need for emergency food support extends year round.
During the summer months when federally subsidized school lunches
are unavailable, food support is even more pressing for needy families.
This makes spring and summer food drives an
increasingly important source of food for CORA.
You can help. If you or your organization would like to host a
food drive, please contact our office at 542-5020 and ask for
Food Drive information. We can help you get it organized and
give you a pre-designed flyer to customize for your
organization.
You can also send an email requesting information to
projectcoordinator@corafoodpantry.org or
contact the CORA Food Drive Coordinator: Jim
Wilkes at
jnwilkes@sprynet.com.
