Approximately 10% of the population in Chatham County lives at or below the poverty level and 29% of the population is considered low income. Many of these families face food insecurity, meaning they lack regular access to the nutritious food they need.
CORA is asking for help to make the holiday season bright for families in need. Businesses, schools, faith-based organizations, and other community groups are encouraged to organize holiday food drives through the end of 2022. Some of the items needed are:
Donations can be dropped off at CORA at 40 Camp Drive in Pittsboro Monday through Friday between 9 am – 3 pm. For additional information, please email info@corafoodpantry.org or call 919-542-5020. If you have a large amount of donations, please contact Rebecca Hankins at Rebecca@corafoodpantry.org to make pick-up or delivery arrangements.
