CORA served over 1.3 million meals this year. Thousands of cans of tuna, green beans, and corn. Bushels of cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers. Hundreds of cars overflowing with bags of groceries. An entire community alleviating hunger among Chatham County residents. It sounds overwhelming – and it is. However, because of your awe-inspiring support, CORA was able to meet the record need for food in our community.
Each year, we make sure that the most vulnerable neighbors in our community receive the food assistance they desperately need. However, over the past several months, our ideas about the meaning of need have expanded. Over 700 families visited CORA for the first time this year. Clients, both new and returning, visited CORA twice as often as they did in previous years. With so many people facing uncertainty – loss of loved ones, loss of jobs, loss of income, and loss of school meals – CORA’s ability to provide food regularly to anyone in need means stability and hope.
If you have already made your year-end gift, THANK YOU! If not, please consider a gift to CORA today that will help us meet the needs of the most vulnerable in our community facing food insecurity. Whether it is $5, $50, $500, or even more, it will provide the funds necessary to help us to continue to build a community without hunger.
Many thanks for your support!
