Federal Programs
Although CORA is not a government agency, we do facilitate the distribution of foods through the following federal nutrition programs. We are available to assist you in enrolling in these programs if you are eligible.
CORA is an equal opportunity provider.
TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program)
Additional food is provided monthly to CORA’s income-eligible clients through the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina and the United States Department of Agriculture’s TEFAP program.
TEFAP food distribution begins the Monday following the third Wednesday of each month, available while supplies last.
For additional information on TEFAP and eligibility requirements, please contact us at info@corafoodpantry.org or talk to us at the pantry check-in desk.
CSFP (Commodity Supplemental Food Program)
In partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture and the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, CORA distributes pre-packed boxes of shelf-stable foods to registered, income-eligible Chatham County seniors (60 years and older), once a month through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program.
CSFP boxes are available beginning the first Thursday of each month while supplies last.
For additional information on CSFP and eligibility requirements, please contact us at info@corafoodpantry.org or talk to us at the pantry check-in desk.
