CORA’s 2024 Mid-Year Impact Report: A Community United Against Hunger
At CORA, we believe that everyone deserves access to nutritious food. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the dedication of our volunteers and partners, and the resilience of our neighbors, we continue to make a significant impact in Chatham County. As we reach the midpoint of 2024, we are proud to share the key highlights of our Mid-Year Impact Report and our progress together.
By the Numbers: A Snapshot of Our Impact
So far this year, CORA has served 10,117 unique individuals facing food insecurity. When accounting for all visits and services provided, we have reached an astonishing 58,752 people across Chatham County. These numbers reflect the increasing need for food assistance and our commitment to ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry.
Meeting the Growing Need
This year, we have seen a sharp increase in food insecurity due to economic challenges and rising living costs. More families than ever are turning to CORA for support, and we remain steadfast in our mission to provide nutritious food to all who need it. Whether through our pantry, Mobile Market, or partnerships with organizations like PORCH Chatham, we are addressing the growing demand with compassion and efficiency. However, uncertainty looms for many as potential cuts to food assistance programs threaten to make access to essential nutrition even more difficult.
How You Can Help
Our work would not be possible without the unwavering support of our community. Here’s how you can make a difference:
Looking Ahead
While we have achieved so much in the first half of 2024, work still needs to be done. As we move forward, we remain committed to expanding access to nutritious food, strengthening partnerships, and advocating for policies addressing food insecurity’s root causes.
