Emily Corbett joined CORA’s staff team as the Development and Communications Manager in July 2024.
Emily’s role at CORA includes connecting with the community through social media, newsletters, media, and marketing. She will also coordinate fundraising campaigns and events to support CORA’s work.
Food equity has always been important to Emily, and she is excited to be able to use her time and skills to help build a community without hunger in Chatham County.
“As soon as I visited CORA, I knew it was going to be a place where I belonged. I was immediately impressed by the effectiveness of CORA’s programs, the welcoming environment of the pantry, and strong commitment to values that I share. I am proud to come to work every day to be a part of CORA’s work for food equity.”
Before joining CORA, Emily was the Development and Communications Manager for the Paws4ever animal rescue in Mebane. Emily started working in communications while she was in school at Guilford College, where she received a degree in English and helped in the college’s marketing department.
Emily lives in Chapel Hill with her husband, Hank, and three mischievous cats, Sammy, Merlin, and Ollie. When she’s not at work writing true stories about CORA’s work, she enjoys writing fiction. Emily also enjoys reading books, running, playing board games with friends, and cooking tasty vegan dishes.
