Help us create a community without hunger

For 35 years, CORA has been providing nutritious foods to neighbors facing food insecurity. CORA’s food pantry welcomes any neighbor in need to pick out groceries for their family, and our kids’ programs ensure that children have access to healthy meals and snacks when school is out.

Right now, our community is in crisis. Lower income families are struggling more than ever to afford groceries, and federal food assistance programs are being cut. CORA has seen a 20% increase in the amount of help our neighbors need to feed their families so far this year.

The need in our area is particularly high in Siler City where 29% of residents live below the poverty line. Neighbors from western Chatham County currently have to drive as far as 40 miles round trip to get food from CORA’s Pittsboro pantry, which adds barriers for families who are already struggling.

With your help, we’re bringing CORA’s services right where they’re needed most. CORA is opening an additional food pantry in Siler City this summer!

We expect to accommodate 21,000 visits to the new pantry in the first year, in addition to our existing service in Pittsboro.

Can we count on your help?  When people have enough to eat, they’re healthier, stronger, and better able to care for their families, succeed at work or school, and contribute to the well-being of their neighbors. Feeding people isn’t just an act of compassion—it’s how we build a thriving, connected community where everyone can flourish.

Please, join us in taking care of our neighbors by making a gift today.
