Fighting Food Insecurity in Chatham County

Federal Programs

Although CORA is not a government agency, we do facilitate the distribution of commodity foods through federal nutrition programs. CORA is an equal opportunity provider.

TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program)

Additional food is provided monthly to income-eligible clients of CORA through the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina and the United States Department of Agriculture’s TEFAP program.

For additional information on these programs and eligibility requirements, please contact Mackie Hunter at Mackie@corafoodpantry.org.

CSFP (Commodity Supplemental Food Program)

In partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture and the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, CORA distributes pre-packed boxes of shelf-stable foods to registered, income-eligible seniors (60 years and older) once a month through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program.

For additional information on these programs and eligibility requirements, please contact Mackie Hunter at Mackie@corafoodpantry.org.
