We would not be able to fulfill our mission without the time and dedication of our volunteers. Each year, the operation of the pantry requires more than 6000 hours of work contributed by more than 300 devoted volunteers.
Our goal is to provide interested groups and individuals with the best volunteer experience possible. We also strive to prepare our volunteers to become hunger advocates in our community. Fighting hunger does not always start with a meal. At CORA, it starts with those who selflessly offer their time and talent. CORA’s volunteer opportunities include stocking shelves, helping families shop, organizing food drives, and even helping with one of our exciting fundraising events. Whether you are an individual, or part of a group or company, there are many customizable opportunities to volunteer and we welcome you!
You must be 18 to volunteer for most jobs at the pantry. However, there are many opportunities for school-age volunteers to contribute to our work and earn community service hours. If you are under 18 please check out our Youth Volunteer Opportunities or contact Isabella DeSantis, Volunteer Coordinator, at Isabella@corafoodpantry.org.
Regular orientations are held the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 2:00 pm at the Pantry. To register for orientation, contact Isabella DeSantis, Volunteer Coordinator, at Isabella@corafoodpantry.org. At orientation, you will receive a tour of the pantry and learn about the work we do at CORA. You will also register with Volunteer Hub, our on-line volunteer scheduling and information system. Following orientation, you will be able to sign up for shifts that fit your schedule. Many volunteer positions will require shadowing a current volunteer until you feel completely comfortable working on your own.
Please fill out the form and our staff will get back to you shortly!
